Fun, Creepy Halloweensie Tales and Tea!

Happy Halloween! I love to enter the Susanna Leonard Hill's Annual Halloweensie Story Contest! Check out her website and read a few more fun stories. Every year she challenges writers to write a 100 word story using three words. This year the words are: tiptoe, goblin, chill. My goal is to make the scary day fun for little readers without being too scary. I wrote two this year! One with a non-fiction twist and the other is totally cute with TEA! One of my favorite things. I am always surprised what stories come out that I never would have put my mind to if I did not take her challenge. Let me know which one is your favorite and have a happy and safe Halloween night!

ZELDA ZOMBIE’S TEA

By Amy LaMae Brewer

Who’s not scared of Zelda Zombie’s Tea?

Gretta Goblin is going.

Wendy Witch is going.

Gary Ghoul is making it a priority.

Winston Werewolf will.

Zelda makes her friends her favorite treats.

Scones with snake butter,

cockroach cupcakes,

veggie fingers, eyeball eggs and---

chilled jello insect bites!

“Come sip some Tasmanian devilish tea,” she says.

“With bats in the midnight air and share some

nightly snacks under a silvery moon.

Please come, it’s a howling, Halloween Eve!

For creepy story tales and delicious scary treats,

with spooky zombie friends who tiptoe through

a graveyard and devour a ghoul night tea.”

A Non-Fiction entry challenge. Keep reading and check out the gruesome real picture below!

A Halloween Tale of the Deep Dark Sea

By Amy LaMae Brewer (95 words)

Underneath the deep, dark sea,

Lurks an unusual fellow.

With a nose so long and jaws-

That catch prey in an unusual way.

Their skin, an eerie opalescent pink!

An unsuspecting, tiptoeing crab will soon meet,

The trigger jaws that snap forward and CRUNCH!

In the depths of the chill biting waters.

A gruesome and deep dark swimmer,

who’s known for a secret electrical attack!

Many have yet to explore and see,

A truly scary looking creature,

Swimming in the deep, deep, deep, dark.

Who is this Halloween named ghoul?

Meet the mysterious Goblin Shark!
